Rhapsody has officially announced the DRM-free MP3 store today. According to Rhapsody it was because of the incompatibility to the iPod that hurt their market share. Before this announcement, Rhapsody was a purely subscription based company. You could stream all sorts of songs on your computer, but could never put them on a music player.

The new MP3 store has a normal pricing structure at /$.99 person, and an album being $9.99. They boast a 5 million song library which will all have MP3 files available to download. While this might just sound like another carbon copy of other music download services, Rhapsody offers full track previews instead of 30 second clips.

For those of us who like to lay in bed and jam out to iTunes, a new app is on the way. According to MacRumors, it appears as though a remote control app is coming to the iPhone and iTouch.

Tucked away in a readme file for the iTune 7.7 update, was a paragraph talking about said app: “Use iTunes 7.7 to sync music, video, and more with iPhone 3G, and download applications from the iTunes Store exclusively designed for iPhone and iPod touch with software version 2.0 or later. Also use the new Remote application for iPhone or iPod touch to control iTunes playback from anywhere in your home — a free download from the App Store.”

Apple has a penchant for syncing all of their products together in a seamless network. While this isn’t a major surprise, it’s definitely a cool feature for any iPhone/iTouch users to keep an eye on.

Going “green” is a new idea for most large corporations. As active awareness of how we effect the world around us rises, so does the need for companies to stay as green as possible. Greenpeace releases a report every so often grading companies on their effective at remaining ‘green’.

In the last report, Apple was doing good following its’ ‘clean’ release of the MacBook Air. They were towards the front of the pack at about “6″ rating. In the June report, Greenpeace has increased the criteria necessary to receive a good score. Due to this Apple has went from 6 back to 4.

When the internet first released it didn’t take a whole lot of time for pornography to dominate the web. If you don’t have a pop-up blocker, it won’t take long for some porn site to pop up ads all over your desktop.

The iPhone looks to be making a huge splash in the adult entertainment industry. In an article from Time.com, it’s pretty amazing at the amount of pornographic sites that are tailored to the iPhone crowd. According to one of the industry experts they talked to, there are already hundreds of iPhone pornography sites on the web.

The new 3G iPhone will even add more fuel to the iPhone-porn craze. As the network expands and becomes easier to access the web, the popularity of the porn sites will increase.

Devan Cypher, a representative for San Francisco–based Sin City Entertainment had this to say about the iPhone, “It’s by far the porn-friendliest phone”

Of course Apple has released a statement about how they don’t condone porn being available on the iPhone. Any official apps that have pornographic tones are strictly forbidden from use from Apple. Of course they can’t monitor what people browse through on Safari, so the fight might be a moot point.

The NX-PN7 has been released with very little fanfare. It is the first dual dock system being released by JVC. Not only is it the first to allow for dual iPod docking, it’s the first that will allow you to attach your iPhone as well.

Innovation is pretty much the reason behind Apple’s success over the years. To show appreciation for everyone that has helped Apple become so innovative, they created the Apple Design Awards back in the mid-90′s.
