How To Mount Your iPhone As A Hard Drive

Great Cnet video explaining how to mount your iPhone as a hard drive:

iPhone App Of The Day – Speed

Speed

Ever wonder how fast you’re going on your bike? If you’re riding in a plane, do you ever wonder how fast the plane is actually going? With the iPhone App, ‘Speed’, you’ll be able to determine the speed wherever you’re at. The app uses the iPhones 3G connection to determine speed through GPS tracking. It has a very simple graphical interface, displaying the speed very vividly. Be warned you have to be going around 35 mph or greater for the app to work. Either it’s pretty cool.

iPhone App Of The Day – FlipBook Lite

FlipBook

For those who like to be creative on the go, FlipBook is a wonderful ‘distraction’ app. You can make doodles using the touch screen, with a variety of different tools. Probably the coolest feature is the onion skinning. This allows you to see previous frames and future frames to allow you to be more precise when you create your FlipBook animation.

3G iPhone Connection Problems Still Linger

For those who were having problems with their 3G iPhones, help was supposed to arrive Monday. The firmware updated 2.0.2 was supposed to help alleviate some of the connection problems the iPhone was having on the 3G network.

Not that users have had a few days to snuggle up to the update, the feedback is pouring in. These same people who were complaining of problems still say their connection is still having problems.

The problems have gotten so bad that an Alabama woman is suing Apple for her connection problems. Jessica Smith of Alabama is suing Apple for advertising that their 3G network is faster than it actually is.

Here is a direct quote from the complaint, “Defendant intended for customers to believe its statements and representations about the Defective iPhone 3Gs, and to trust that the device was ‘twice as fast at half the price”

Smith wants Apple to replace all devices and pay for damages and attorney fees. I actually agree with Smith on replacing the defective handsets. If a customer brings in a 3G iPhone and prove to an associate it’s defective then it should be immediately replaced.

Here’s hoping the September update will finally put the 3G connection problems to rest.

iPhone App Of The Day – Remote

iTunes Remote

This is one of the more popular Apps that you can find available from the App Store. There’s a good reason for its popularity as it serves a very simple yet impressive function. It turns your iPhone into a remote control that you can use to control iTunes on your computer or through AppleTV. It’s pretty much like having a mini-iTunes interface on your iPhone. If you’re on the bed, or couch and don’t feel like getting up to change the song, you don’t have to with, Remote. The best feature of all is that it’s a free download.
