iPod Nano Gets v1.0.3 Update

tuaw.com is reporting that the iPod Nano (4th Gen) has received its latest update. For those who haven’t upgraded to the iPod Touch, here’s what fixes you got coming your way.

* Support for Apple In-Ear Headphones with Remote and Mic (yeah, the ones we’ve been waiting for)
* Support for Apple Earphones with Remote and Mic
* Fixed instability issues when using Nike + iPod Sport Kit
* Added a setting to turn off Cover Flow when rotating iPod nano and a Cover Flow menu item under the Music menu
* When Shuffle setting is set to Songs, pressing play on a song in saved Genius playlist will now follow the Shuffle setting
* After playing a slideshow with TV out, Cover Flow album art is no longer distorted
* Waking iPod nano after hibernating no longer distorts photos
* Other minor bug fixes

So here’s an interesting nugget of information for you; Barack Obama is a Mac user. It’s true, according to Telegraph, who put together a list of 50 facts you might not know about the President-Elect.

To prove his “Mac Status” even more his wife, Michelle, has even stated to People magazine that her husband never travels without his webcam. Now, I’m not one to make assumptions… but if you add all the clues up it’s pretty easy to see that he’s probably a fan of iChat as well (since iChat is easily the best app for video chatting according to Gadget Lab).

iPhone OS 2.2 Coming November 21st?

According to iPhone Hellas, a reliable source informed them of an upcoming iPhone update. The 2.2 firmware should be coming November 21st, if you’re to believe the site and their reliable sources. I’ve been burned before from relying on solid sources so take this with a grain of salt.

Here’s some features for the 2.2 update from the website:

- New look for the Safari with the Google search bar now occupying its own space on the title bar
- Toggle On / Off to disable the auto-correction
- 461 Japanese emoji icons
- Support for new languages.
- Line-in audio is activated and can be used through the headphone jack
- Google Street View, Google Transit information - Routes public transport, Walking directions, Location sharing.
