Apple Drops In Greenpeace Ranking


Going “green” is a new idea for most large corporations. As active awareness of how we effect the world around us rises, so does the need for companies to stay as green as possible. Greenpeace releases a report every so often grading companies on their effective at remaining ‘green’.

In the last report, Apple was doing good following its’ ‘clean’ release of the MacBook Air. They were towards the front of the pack at about “6″ rating. In the June report, Greenpeace has increased the criteria necessary to receive a good score. Due to this Apple has went from 6 back to 4.

Here is comments from Greenpeace on Apple’s current score, “Increasing number of products free of the worst toxic chemicals. Low scores on energy except for good energy efficiency in products.” For a view full of the report, visit Greenpeace.
