Ballmer Shows Respect To Mac Products

You gotta love it when the goings-ons of a company gets leaked to the public. Probably my favorite rumor to come out of Microsoft, was that a majority of their employees actually use Linux on a day-to-day basis instead of Windows. Now it looks like a memo from Ballmer to some of his employees has surfaced. In the memo, Ballmer talks about the recent success Apple has had with their products:

Apple: In the competition between PCs and Macs, we outsell Apple 30-to-1. But there is no doubt that Apple is thriving. Why? Because they are good at providing an experience that is narrow but complete, while our commitment to choice often comes with some compromises to the end-to-end experience. Today, we’re changing the way we work with hardware vendors to ensure that we can provide complete experiences with absolutely no compromises. We’ll do the same with phones—providing choice as we work to create great end-to-end experiences.

Could this be hinting at a plan for Microsoft to get involved with hardware? They technically have already begun with video games, and trying to make their presence in the music player industry. Of course providing an end-to-end experience is easier said than done.
