iPhone App Of The Day – Distant Shore

Distant Shore

Distant Shore is an app that I would categorize with others as being a bit misleading. If you look at screenshots, or video you think that it’s some kind of casual video game. Once you download it, and give it a go it couldn’t be farther from the truth. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t give it a try though. I think Distant Shore is a unique mix of Twitter, and a video game-esque presentation. The premise of Distant Shore is simple, you put messages in a bottle and send them out. They end up on others’ shores through WiFi, or the 3G network. Most of the fun of the app is through its presentation, and graphical style. For $0.99 it’s worth a download

iPhone App Of The Day – iDracula

iDracula

Today’s App of the Day is my most used App to date more than likely. The funny thing is, I’ve only had it a few days. Over the weekend, I was seriously addicted to iDracula. If you’ve ever played ‘survival shooters’ (Geometry Wars, Super Stardust HD) then you know what expect with iDracula. The premise is simple, you move and shoot as you try to survive and unending amount of the undead. Easily one of the best deals I’ve ever seen on the App Store for $0.99.

iPhone App Of The Day – Zephyr

Zephyr

Zephyr is a very unique app, in that it’s a social networking app but you’re sending messages to random strangers. Think of sending a note in a bottle, and throwing it into the sea. Only with Zephyr, your message is accompanied with bright flowing colors, with heart, clover, and snowflakes. Along with the visual effects, it plays music as you write a message as well. When you send it, the message is received by someone random who can like, or dislike it. If they choose to like it they can send it on to others. The trick is to see how many people can receive your message.

iPhone App Of The Day – Down Under

Down Under

Today’s App of the day is definitely one of those useless, but cool apps. If you’ve ever seen cartoons where characters dig a whole through the Earth, to the other side then you get the gist of today’s app. Using GPS technology, Down Under is able to tell you exactly where you’d end up if you dug a hole from a location directly to the other side. It’s an entertaining app. Would have been nice if it were free though, but for $0.99 it’s still a good deal.
