Final Cut Server Launches

Today, Apple launched Final Cut Server, or what they refer to as a “media asset management”. Basically the software will make it easier for anyone using Final Cut Pro, to share files with others on a network.

The software sports a easy to navigate interface, which uses a thumbnail system to find the files you’re looking for. The setup process is simple, which all that requires you to do is choose the folders and directories you want Final Cut Server to search through. After choosing your folders and directories, Final Cut Server will search for relevant files and assets and add them to your network catalog.

Final Cut Server

Final Cut Server is now available for purchase. The software comes in two different versions; the first version is a 10-client software which is $999, while there is an unlimited client software for $1,999.

Apple - Helping America Getting Back Into Shape

The iPod, in my opinion helped spark the re-emergence of jogging and running in this nation. I remember when it was pretty rare to see people out running down the sidewalks of my town. Now I curse at all the people that run out in front of my car. I would say that a large portion of these people have ear buds that are connected to a MP3 device.

Apple it seems has taken notice of this sudden interest in staying healthy. It has been reported that they are in the process of developing a health based software program for the iPod Touch and the iPhone.

Richard Simmons
Let’s Hope Richard Simmons Is an Avatar You Can Use With The Program.

When the software is installed onto your computer, it will ask you a series of health related questions. It will ask you what sort of exercise activities you like to engage in, your fitness goals, and your activity level. Then it will ask you about your health history, and any current medications you’re taking.

Once this is complete, the program will churn out an exercise routine for you. It will give you goals to reach, in your quest for a healthy lifestyle. Your iPod Touch and iPhone will sync up with the program, so you can keep up with your routine when you’re at the gym.

Web Surfers Can Now Roam Through A New Safari

Today Apple released their newest version of the internet browser, Safari 3.1. With their new version, Apple boasts faster loading speeds, and a sleek user-interface (anyone surprised?).

Apple promises faster load times than both Internet Explorer and Firefox. They also report that their javascript performance, outperforms other browsers as well.

Safari 3.1 will also use a bookmark system, akin to the interface of iTunes. Your search window, and bookmark window will all be accessible without going into any other menus. You will also be able to import all of your bookmarks on your other browsers, if you decide to make the switch.

Are you visiting some sites, that you don’t want your mom, wife, or anyone else to know about? Well, then Safari offers “private browsing”, which will stop the browser from storing cookies, history, or Google history.

For your free download, visit Apple.com. The browser is available for both Mac and PC.

iPhone SDK Downloads Reach 100,000

It has been four days since the official unveiling of the iPhone SDK. Developers were amazed by the capabilities demonstrated by the SDK, from the likes of Spore, and Super Monkey Ball.

This amazement has turned into some serious numbers for Apple. Since its’ release, the SDK as seen 100,000 downloads from Apple’s servers. The video of the conference has already received nearly 1,000,000 views since they made the video public.

It’s not perplexing to see why the SDK has seen so much success at this early stage. If you were to see Spore on the iPhone, and then after seeing it realized it only took EA two weeks to develop, you’d know why developers are already downloading.

On top of what looks to be an easy to use SDK, there is the $100 million fund invested by Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers to aspiring iPhone developers.

So what are you doing reading this article, go and join the masses and see if you can design the next great iPhone App. The SDK can be downloaded here (login required).
