Mac owners often complain about being left out, but they’ll soon have one less reason to do so. “GameTap has opened up its online gaming service to Mac users,” reports Matt Martin of GamesIndustry.biz, “offering 500 titles from its library of videogames.”

A number of these titles are instantly recognizable - Street Fighter Alpha 3 and Sonic the Hedgehog caught my eye (and reminded me of years long gone) - so no one should worry about the quality of the games. As for the timing . . .

“Currently Mac users can only take advantage of the GameTap Lite Player,” adds Martin, “with the Deluxe Player promising full-screen gameplay and other features when it launches later this summer.”
