AT 10 am PST, the iPhone SDK will be released to developers across the country. If you’ve been keeping up with your iPod news, then you’d know that third-party developers have had no dev kit to produce applications for the iPhone.

Although the release is still a couple of hours away, rumors as to what is going to be mentioned have started. The big rumor that has surfaced is that the SDK will only be compatible with Mac OS X. Even though the iPhone is compatible for use on PCs or Macs, it has been speculated that the only developers using Macs will be able to create software for the iPhone.

Gamers should also rejoice, as it is being rumored that Electronics Arts and Gameloft will be producing iPhone titles.

Stay tune to FreeMacBlog, later in the day as more factual details surface about the iPhone SDK.
