I upgraded my iTunes install to 7.0.2 yesterday and didn’t notice anything different. But, this morning I went looking for some episodes of The Office for my other site and they were no where to be found. I didn’t know what was going on.

Finally, I clicked on an iTunes affiliate banner for The Office and I received a message.

“This video is not available in the Switzerland iTunes Store.”

Then it logged me out of my iTunes account. When I logged back in, I was in the US store and all the movies and shows were back.

I sat there all morning trying to figure out what I did to switch stores. My last name is Stucki (Swiss) so it was really loopy for me.

But, it turns out that other folks are having the same problem. It’s easily fixed by logging out of your account and back into your account.

Yeah, I had the same thing happen! It was either Switzerland or France. Logging out and back in again fixed it.

    Nice update…

I had a similar problem with the 7.0.1 Update, but not with the 7.0.2
After my update to 7.0.1 I did end up on the american store, usualy I use the german store. My first thought was: not so bad, now I can purchase stuff not available in europe. But when I tried to buy something from the american store the store denied my purchase, saying: not with that credit card. and I was automatically logged back to the german store …

I was moved to Germany. I closed iTunes & restarted, but didn’t figure out how to sign out. I finally noticed the drop menu at the bottom that said Deutschland. I changed that to the United States and everything was back to normal. It does cause a slight panic when you are looking for something to change it to English but can’t read anything. I started clicking on things that resembled anything like the word “English”

iTunes 7.0.2 Pretends it Doesn’t Know Where You Are…

For the second time in about 7 weeks, Apple released an updated one-one-hundredth version of iTunes 7.0. It’s no wonder the stick with numbers and area codes (as opposed to calling it, uh, Lisa) as Apple’s technologically limited music play…
