What To Do With Your Old iPhone When 3G Releases
For those iPhone nuts out there who have an iPhone but will be getting a 3G iPhone when it releases, don’t sell the old one. It still could provide some uses, and could share the load for putting apps and games on it when you get your 3G iPhone to coincide with it.
Apple Insider has confirmed with AT&T that deactivated iPhones can still be used as WiFi-enable iPods. Here’s the official quote from an AT&T spokesperson, “If the [original] device is not re-activated as a wireless phone after you’ve upgraded to iPhone 3G, it will still work as an iTunes player and can access Wi-Fi”
So, you’re still going to be able to surf the web, check email, and download apps and games onto your old iPhone. I can tell you that with my situation, I’m going to use my old iPhone as a testing ground for new apps and games. That way I can test them out on there and decide if they are worth to put on my brand new 3G iPhone.
